Beethoven Bungalows
The first cottage style house was a remodel inspired by the owner's upbringing in an East coast sea town. They had a desire for their LA home to reflect a comfortable Connecticut bungalow so in similar style, we added numerous built-ins for collectables, large picture windows provide abundant light and views and an oversized fireplace and mantle make a warm and welcoming gathering place for family and guests reflecting the Atlantic charm they wished for.
The second bungalow was a remodel for a couple who wanted to upgrade their home and ready it as a permanent retirement residence. It was a small addition and remodel which relocated some rooms and marginally increased the overall size of the house and allowing them to comfortably adapt to the new rooms and spaces.
The third bungalow added about 650 square feet to the original house increasing the living, dining areas and adding a new master bedroom wing. It was designed to meet the needs of a small family of three and with its charming new landscaping plan is an attractive addition to the neighborhood.
The remodel and new second story addition of this former bungalow expresses a bold new exterior and interior in traditional craftsamn style. Embellished details and unique design in trim and finish elements accent the look. The homeowner also wanted to combine a contemporary feel, finishing the kitchen and baths with a select stone and modern fixtures. Wooden stairways, coffered ceilings and open beam vaults all contribute to the historic feeling of the house.

Historical
Renovation
The historic designation of this North of Montana house inspired the design of a much needed renovation that would respond to the lifestyle of an active family of five. To preserve the look and feel of the original 1927 house, the design and construction was reflected through the door and windows style, exterior stucco and iron work, roof slope and facia to match as closely as possible to historic photos and original color rendering of the home.
